The 2004 Claas Montana 4 x 4 Combine in immaculate condition topped the sale reaching an admirable \u00a351,050 being purchased by a combine enthusiast down in Devon . The JCB Telehandlers x 2 were next highest at \u00a338,100 and \u00a324,500 respectively followed by a local contractors JD 6930 tractor at \u00a323,100. 1994 Claas Mega 202 Combine sold for \u00a319,500. A 33 year old Jedburgh Case International 1056 tractor reached an amazing \u00a314,550. The next JD 6800 tractor with a hefty 28,000 hrs sold for \u00a310,500 . Marsden 14 t trailers to a very respectable \u00a35,400 . A Vintage Ford 3000 tractor reached \u00a35,150 without a splutter and now heads to just south of Glasgow. Renault 70 \u2013 32 tractor also got over the \u00a35000 bracket selling for \u00a35,050 to its new owner in York .<\/span><\/div>\n

The oldest tractor \/ vehicle \/ machine the McCormick B250 International with a power loader from 1957 also cleared the \u00a32000 mark selling for \u00a32,221 after loads of keen bidding going to a vintage collector from the Lanark area . After a huge battle for the 1970\u2019s Webb drill x \u00a3835 it now moves from Kelso to Berwick having narrowly missed heading overseas to Orkney .<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Border Livestock Exchange Ltd conducted the Farm Sale at Bowshiel Farm on Monday 3rd August on behalf of Messrs J White who were restructuring their business , the sale was conducted online with sealed offers .<\/span><\/p>\n

This online tender system proved to be extremely popular and very well supported , resulting in both a high clearance rate and many of the prices being well in excess of the vendors expectations.<\/span><\/p>\n

With a closing time set for Monday 12 noon the girls were swamped with an incredible 465 people registering offers before 10am .<\/span><\/p>\n

Our regular collective machinery sale at Kelso Racecourse was also held with the farm sale . Owing to everything being sold in situ there were no distance issues to Kelso which meant a Manitou was advertised and sold from Perth in the North and 3 tractors sold from the Newcastle area.<\/span><\/p>\n

With the current Covid 19 restrictions in place this online option, although secondary,\u00a0 lacking in social interaction and atmosphere it was however a great success .<\/span><\/p>\n

Farm Sale Testimonial by Robert Jackson, Detchant Farm, Belford<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Due to a change in farming policy, Messrs J R Jackson of Detchant Farm, Belford required a Farm Sale. I asked Border Livestock Exchange to sell this equipment on my behalf.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Jamie Logan came to see me on the 20th April and amazingly by the 1st May, the machinery had all been sold.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

No one came to view the machinery, it was sold purely as a Virtual Farm Sale. The skilled description of the items, was very accurate and gave prospective purchasers enough confidence to bid without anyone even coming onto the farm.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

The machinery was all sold on Friday 1st May with everything concluded and full payment made on the day.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Border Livestock Exchange Ltd conducted the double farm sale at Newmills Farm, Lauder on Friday 23rd November 2018 on behalf of D & J Waldie Contracting , Newmills and C & N Anderson Boon Farm, Lauder .<\/span><\/p>\n

This was the largest farm sale ever held in The Scottish Borders with over 550 buyers registering prior to the sale. <\/span>
Buyers were present from Tiverton to Orkney and from Tipperary to Krakow in Poland . <\/span>
The crowd reflected both the popularity of the Waldie Family also the quality and quantity of the modern machinery presented for sale .<\/span><\/p>\n

I<\/span>nevitably with so many buyers prices were close to new price for certain lots , while so many people tried to get their names in the book trade stayed sharp right to the end (3.40pm).<\/span><\/span>
With an estimated crowd size in excess of 3,000 the general opinion was that there has never been a turnout for a farm sale of this magnitude anywhere in the UK.<\/span><\/p>\n

Both venders experienced a 100% clearance rate before the most amazing line up of inputs which also sold extremely well.<\/span><\/p>\n

With such an impressive range of arable equipment on offer, buyers were either represented or travelled from all over the UK and Ireland. This resulted in a huge crowd which in turn ensured a fast and good trade was experienced from start to finish .<\/span><\/p>\n
