This was for an outstanding ram from Mr Glen Wilson, Hawthornside Farm , Hawick .

Trade was fast from lot 1 from Hawthornside to the final lot from Lynn Gray Unthank who had a top of £1,300 and a very respectable £880 average .

The overall quality of naturally brought out rams was clearly reflected with over 30 rams passing the £1,000 mark .
Regular buyers many of them local were met with fierce competition from enthusiastic purchasers who had travelled from Orkney , the Midlands , Yorkshire and a very strong representation from Wales .

C & D Auction Marts in conjunction with Border Livestock Exchange Ltd held their rescheduled Kelso Ram Sale for Rings 18 & 19 with 244 Texel Shearlings at Longtown Mart in a new purpose-built ring on Monday 7^th September.

With buyers taking advantage of this terrific facility trade was satisfactory with an 89% sold ratio from 244 forward the overall average returned a healthy £600.45 for 219 head.
